The brief

I was lead regulator for 8 housing agencies with $100M+ in assets. The function had not used AI before, and I led its first deployment.

Approach

The reconciliation tool checked the figures against each other and showed the team which ones did not match.

The complaints search tool lets the team type a question and get back the complaint records that match. It uses retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).

I wrote the ethical AI principles for the deployment, so the team knew how the tools may and may not be used.

Outcome

Reporting accuracy went up 22%, and the tools saved about 5 hours per person per week.
